When you see enlarged veins close to the surface of your skin, especially on your calf and thighs, they are varicose veins. They occur due to weakening of the walls of the vessels or when the valves regulating blood flow do not function properly.
Varicose veins affect 10% of men and 25% women in America.
Varicose veins usually lead to bulging veins, pain, tingling, burning, heaviness, fatigue and restlessness in the legs.
There are a lot of causes of varicose veins. Too much standing or sitting, wearing uncomfortable shoes, second pregnancy and most importantly nutrition. Animal protein and vitamin C are essential to prevent this condition.
Inflammation caused by sugar and trans fatty acid can weaken the walls of the capillaries. They should be avoided. Horse chestnut, which is usually grown in parks as an ornamental tree is the ingredient you should use.
– Aloe Vera gel- 3 tbsp
– Apple cider vinegar- half cup
– Finely chopped carrots- half cup
Blend all the ingredients until they form a paste. Increase or decrease the amount as per your usage.
Apply it on the affected area. Cover it with a bandage. Leave it for half an hour. Wash off with lukewarm water. Keep your leg raised during the application for better effect.
The antioxidants in carrots and the anticoagulants in apple cider vinegar helps in treating the condition. Aloe Vera is an anti inflammatory agent.
