Beside the standard 3% diluted hydrogen peroxide, there are also sprays and many other products. They are intended for the disinfection of the mucous membranes when injected into the nostrils and the like. For that product you will need to pay about 1,5$.

What are the disadvantages of hydrogen peroxide?

There are some experts who consider that the 3% hydrogen peroxide damages the skin, thus is not the perfect solution for treating wounds. The foam, which occurs when it is applied to the wound comes from catalase, an enzyme that is found in the blood and in cells. The bubbles are the pure oxygen which  occurs when the hydrogen touch catalase, and not due to the process of destroying bacteria.

And beside all the antiseptic and antibacterial properties, hydrogen peroxide damages the sensitive tissue and slows down the healing process. According to them, it’s much better to clean all the owunds and cuts with plain water.

However, the fact that 3% hydrogen peroxide is not toxic goes to its favor. You can use it everywhere you want.
